  1. Take a pan add water. Now add cumin seeds.
  2. Add green chilli add soda, salt. Mix well. Now switch on the gas. Let water boil. After 2 mins add oil.
  3. Once the water is boiled nicely, add rice flour little by little and keep stirring. So that there are no lumps formed.
  4. Keep stirring. Cook till the water is absorbed. And leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Rice Khichu is ready to serve. Sprinkle red chilli powder and little oil on top.

Khichdi is made in different ways in different parts of the country. The place I belong to, it's made like a porridge. Masala Khichdi is a spicy variation of simple khichdi. This is healthy but ultimate comfort food. Usually khichdi is served with yogurt, pickle and papdam.
